This project focused on critical roofing and exterior envelope renovations at the Dixon Correctional Center, a massive medium-security facility encompassing 1,109,711 SF across 138 buildings. The scope involved replacing approximately 116,017 SF of both steep and flat roofing systems across seven structures, some of which date back to the late 1930s.
The new roofing included the installation of new shingles and EPDM membrane roofing, along with new insulation, flashing, trim, and necessary accessories to ensure long-term weather tightness. Minor structural work included wood deck and joist replacement, along with necessary exterior restoration such as minor tuck-pointing and brick replacement, and replacing exterior sealants at stone coping joints. This essential infrastructure upgrade significantly improves the durability and protection of the complex’s aging facilities.
