Last week, Path Construction executives joined Marriott International, Concord Hospitality, and Whitman Peterson teams in Fort Myers, Florida to celebrate the groundbreaking of Marriott’s first StudioRes brand hotel.
The StudioRes brand is Marriott’s new affordable midscale extended stay brand in the U.S & Canada. The brand seeks to deliver reasonably priced modern comfort for guests seeking longer-stay accommodations. This 54,000 SF, 124-key hotel will be Marriott’s most affordable cost-per-key product to develop and build.
“The groundbreaking of the first StudioRes hotel is a significant milestone for Marriott International, as we continue to work toward our goal of expanding offerings to meet the needs of guests for every stay purpose. Taking a new build brand from announcement in June to groundbreaking in January is thrilling.”

“We are honored to be part of the launch of this milestone brand alongside Marriott International and Concord Hospitality,” stated Ric Krause, President and CEO of Path Construction. “Concord and its management team have consistently been amount our top-tier clients. Now, with the addition of Marriott to the equation, our commitment to excellence has truly been reinforced”
Concord Hospitality plans to break ground on several more StudioRes properties in the coming months, according to Marriott. In total, the developer expects to build around 50 StudioRes hotels, spanning several dozen submarkets in major U.S cities.
