The 20,000-square-foot Student Recreation Facility Improvement project at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, involved the extensive renovation of the student outdoor pool. The comprehensive upgrade included the installation of a modern liner system, a new filter house, and the latest pool equipment. Key structural work encompassed constructing a new pool deck and a deck trench drain, removing the existing pool gutter to install a new Natare gutter and piping system internally, and building a reinforced concrete balance tank, pump pit, and backwash pit. A new filter building was constructed to house all necessary pool filters, the balancing tank, and equipment for a future chiller, ensuring optimal, long-term functionality of the aquatic facility.
