The 20,000-square-foot Student Recreation Facility Improvement project at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, focuses on the extensive renovation of the student outdoor pool. This upgrade includes installing a modern liner system, a new filter house, the latest pool equipment, and enhanced concrete decking. Key components of the project encompass the construction of a new pool deck and deck trench drain, the reinstallation of two diving boards, and the removal of the existing pool gutter. A new Natare gutter and piping system will be installed internally, along with a reinforced concrete balance tank, pump pit, and backwash pit to ensure optimal functionality and maintenance. A new filter building will also be constructed to house pool filters, a balancing tank, and future chiller equipment.
