The Olive-Harvey College Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Center in Chicago, IL, is a 105,000 SF, three-story LEED Gold facility with a mechanical penthouse. Built to support advanced technical training, it houses an engine and vehicle laboratory, simulated driving facilities, engine testing cells, classrooms, and a student testing center. The project scope included aluminum and glass curtain walls, interior masonry walls, roofing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology rough-ins, along with exterior site improvements, utilities, paving, and landscaping.
Construction required the careful integration of complex MEP systems, high-performance curtain walls, and sustainable features, including a green roof. Delivering the center required overcoming limited site access on an active campus and sequencing heavy civil work while maintaining strict energy efficiency standards to achieve LEED certification.
