Path Construction completed extensive repairs to the Kedzie Avenue Bridge, a 2,000-foot structure carrying heavy traffic over the Northern Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad. Work included structural concrete repair, full-depth and partial-depth patches, lead containment, cleaning and painting of structural steel, concrete removal, superstructure replacement, and joint replacement.
The scope required crews to perform work directly above and around active rail lines. This demanded specialized insurance coverage, safety measures, and training to protect both laborers and ongoing railroad operations. Despite the complex environment, the project was delivered successfully, extending the life and safety of a critical transportation link.
