Illinois Route 83 Bridge

Illinois Route 83 Bridge

Project Summary

Path Construction rehabilitated a 250-foot truss bridge on Illinois Route 83 (Kingery Highway) in DuPage County, spanning the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. The project included 10,000 lbs of structural steel repairs, 8,000 SF of pavement polymer overlay, 6,000 SF of structural maintenance on the bridge’s underside piers and abutments, and 500 linear feet of joint replacement. These improvements enhanced the bridge’s structural integrity, extended its service life, and ensured safe and reliable passage for the traveling public along this central 91.73-mile north–south state route connecting U.S. Route 30 near Dyer, Indiana, to the Wisconsin border. Path Construction delivered a durable and high-performing infrastructure solution while maintaining traffic safety throughout the rehabilitation.
