With the completion of the Harold Washington Children’s Library, this high profile project consisted of a demolition and interior build-out including removal of existing flooring, mill-work, columns, and partitions. The existing lay lights were removed to floor level and a structural infill was installed through coordination with the PBC, owner, end user, building engineers, and art handlers.
The renovation included a new drywall entryway, studio, work rooms, nursing and family restroom, and study room. Throughout the space new glass partitions, ACT ceilings, furniture, light fixtures, mill-work, paint, and flooring were installed. The existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and security systems were revised to accommodate the new space configurations. The project was completed on schedule and the staff moved in on time for the grand opening.
