Garvey Project:
Executed over two years in two distinct phases, the Garvey project involved a comprehensive series of upgrades and renovations. The scope included replacing five rooftop units and ventilators serving all classrooms and offices, featuring a fully integrated Building Automation System (BAS) for enhanced climate control. Convection heaters in classrooms were also replaced to improve heating efficiency. Environmental concerns were addressed with targeted asbestos and lead paint abatement to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
Additional work encompassed the installation of a new ceiling grid and tiles, which included replacing all ceiling light fixtures and targeting plaster ceiling repairs in the gymnasium. All classrooms and offices received fresh paint, and floor repairs were carried out to enhance the overall aesthetics and functionality. Masonry tuckpointing and brick façade repairs were performed to restore the building’s exterior, while a complete roof membrane replacement ensured long-term protection and durability.
Fernwood Project:
The Fernwood project involved demolishing an existing chimney and infilling associated masonry. Mechanical upgrades were also carried out, including the installation of a new exhaust fan and damper to improve ventilation and system performance.
