Project Summary

The project involved a comprehensive range of upgrades and repairs designed to modernize and enhance the facility. Key elements included full tuckpointing, selective brick replacement, and cast stone repairs to address masonry issues. The scope also covered the reconstruction of masonry parapets, the replacement of a metal cornice feature, and a complete roof membrane replacement to ensure durability and weather resistance. New exterior fixtures were installed, including vandal-resistant roof fencing, wall packs, and overhead roof lighting to improve security and illumination. The project also encompassed mechanical upgrades, including the replacement of dampers, fans, and air conditioning units and electrical and security system enhancements.
In addition, lead paint and asbestos flooring reduction was carried out to ensure a safe and compliant environment. Interior updates included new wall finishes and selected flooring in classrooms, offices, and hallways to refresh and modernize these spaces. Corroded steel columns and the truss structure in the multipurpose gymnasium were repaired, which included supplemental concrete foundation and curb work from the alley.
