The project scope encompassed a comprehensive overhaul of the facility’s roofing and mechanical systems. Key elements included installing a complete new PVC roofing system, including roof drains and sheet metal, as well as new skylights with integrated roofing infill. The renovation also featured replacing all aluminum windows and doors, extensive tuck-pointing, and rebuilding masonry parapets to restore structural integrity and enhance appearance.
Additionally, nine outdated air handling units were removed, and four existing units were refurbished. The project involved the removal of the old chiller, cooling tower, and steam boilers, alongside selective removal or capping of rooftop equipment penetrations. Fire and jockey pumps and their controllers were replaced to improve system reliability. Modifications to the sprinkler system were made in response to removing the air handling units, ensuring continued effectiveness. The scope also included the installation of additional closed-circuit television cameras for enhanced security and new exterior parapet lighting to improve visibility and safety.
