Located in Cook County, IL, this 18,000 SF ground-up campground project brought new lodging and amenities to the Forest Preserves. The scope included extensive civil and infrastructure installation, renovation of an existing cabin, and construction of a new toilet-shower building, five small cabins, one two-bedroom cabin, and a covered shelter. Utility upgrades and site improvements were required to support the expanded facilities. The project team addressed permit revisions and late design adjustments that impacted plumbing systems, utility connections, and site drainage. Despite these challenges, the work was completed with careful attention to integrating the structures into the natural environment. The finished campground provides durable facilities that enhance accessibility and visitor experience while respecting the surrounding forest preserve setting.
