Garvey Project:
The Garvey project, executed over two years in two phases, involved a comprehensive series of facility upgrades. The scope included replacing five rooftop units and ventilators serving all classrooms and offices, as well as integrating a new Building Automation System (BAS) for enhanced climate control. Convection heaters in classrooms were also replaced to boost heating efficiency. Environmental work included targeted abatement of asbestos and lead paint. Aesthetic and functional improvements featured the installation of a new ceiling grid and tiles, replacement of ceiling light fixtures, plaster ceiling repairs in the gymnasium, fresh paint in all classrooms and offices, and floor repairs. Exterior restoration included masonry tuckpointing and brick façade repairs, as well as a complete roof membrane replacement for long-term protection.
The Fernwood project involved the demolition of an existing chimney and infilling the associated masonry. Additionally, mechanical upgrades were performed, including the installation of a new exhaust fan and damper to improve ventilation and system performance.
