Camp Sullivan in Oak Forest, IL, involved the construction of a 16,000 SF, single-story camping and RV facility consisting of six new units. Work included civil and infrastructure installation, a new toilet-shower building, two cabins, and twenty tent pads, along with utilities, paving, and landscaping. Heavy timber and glulam construction was utilized to complement the natural surroundings, and a sanitary force central system was installed to support site operations. Challenges arose when construction and permit revisions were issued after mobilization, requiring adjustments to fire hydrant service, plumbing fixtures, and the well system. Path adapted designs and construction sequencing to integrate these changes without delaying progress. The completed facility provides upgraded accommodations while preserving the site’s character within the Forest Preserves of Cook County.
