White Pine Wastewater Treatment Plant

White Pine Wastewater Treatment Plant

Project Summary

The project involved the new construction of an innovative “Aero-Mod” activated sludge wastewater treatment plant designed to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability in wastewater management. Central to this development was the construction of a substantial concrete tank structure measuring 171 feet by 77 feet and 16 feet high.

This serves as the core of the treatment process, facilitating adequate aeration and sludge processing.

In addition to the primary tank, the project included the creation of several new concrete vault structures, which house essential equipment and facilitate the management of wastewater flow. A new ultraviolet sanitizing building was also constructed, integrating advanced UV technology to ensure the effective disinfection of treated water before it is released back into the environment. This modern approach significantly enhances the plant’s ability to meet regulatory standards and promotes environmental protection.

Three new Kaeser blowers were installed as part of the facility upgrade, providing reliable and efficient aeration to support the biological treatment processes. The existing blower building underwent extensive interior renovations and expansions, ensuring that the facility can accommodate increased operational demands while maintaining a high level of performance.

The project encompassed a comprehensive site redevelopment, which included full regrading, improved drainage solutions, and landscaping efforts such as seeding and stone placement to stabilize the site and enhance its aesthetic appeal.

An essential aspect of this project was the necessity for the existing wastewater treatment plant to remain fully operational throughout the construction phase. This required careful planning and coordination to ensure that processing capabilities were maintained while simultaneously executing critical new plant tie-ins.
