Egan Water Reclamation Plant Parking Lot

Egan Water Reclamation Plant Parking Lot

Project Summary

Path Construction replaced a 44-year-old parking lot with a permeable pavement lot designed to improve stormwater management. The project included demolition of the existing lot, installation of new concrete driveways, walkways, and curbs up to 4 feet tall, a perforated under-drain piping system, sewers, drainage structures, direct-bury conduits, a concrete-encased duct bank, and parking lot lighting. The lot sits atop 3 feet of stone backfill, directing excess water to a bio-retention basin planted with over 10,000 native species.

Working within an active site presented challenges, including coordinating demolition and construction without disrupting adjacent facilities and ensuring proper stormwater management throughout the project. Completed on budget, the project improved water quality, groundwater recharge, and stormwater discharge timing.
